Java is simply a general purpose, high performance object oriented programming language developed by Sun Microsystems in 1991 by James Gosling.The first publicly available version of Java (Java 1.0) was released in 1995. Java is originally designed for the development of applications that can be embedded into everyday household consumer electronic appliances like TVs, Washing Machines, Mobile Phones etc.

Course Objective

1) Understand fundamentals of object-oriented programming in Java, including defining classes, invoking methods, using class libraries, etc.

2) Learn good Java coding style and Create well-structured Java programs

3) Use the core Java libraries (java.lang, java.util, java.io, java.sql, java.awt)

4) Use exceptions for error handling and create multithreading programs

5) Use the Java Collections Framework
